I'm not a huge fan of Sarah Palin or her politics, but I was intrigued about her recent interview on Oprah. This clip is regarding her interview with Katie Couric.
She definitely seems more comfortable with Oprah than she did with Couric. Possibly because with Oprah she only had her own agenda to worry about. Some hilarious Palin-izms as well. "The perky one" Tee hee.
I open up the floor to you dear reader. What are your thoughts?

First off, I can't look at Sarah Palin in her red blazer without thinking of Tina Fey! Second, on a random side note, after our news conference, I have a touch more sympathy for Palin having to do an interview and getting asked hard-hitting questions over and over again. It's not easy... Then again, when you're running for vice-pres, you should be prepped to the max!
ReplyDeleteI think Palin ran into a ton of challenges, and she had a lot of advisors trying to control every little thing she said. Who wouldn't crack under that sort of pressure? Also - I heart Tina Fey
ReplyDeleteI finally watched the Oprah interview last night and was surprised to find Palin so... intelligible.
ReplyDeleteLisa, you're right, it's not easy - but then again, the hard-hitting question that gave her the biggest problem was "what newspapers and magazines do you read?" Hmm. I thought her explanation of that whole thing betrayed just how ill-prepared she was for dealing with the media. Anyone who's had even the simplest of media training knows that you always have to think about the audience "out there," not just the reporter standing in front of you. That she refused to answer the question because she was insulted by what (she felt) it suggested about Alaska shows how little she understood how the media works. (And I'm still not convinced that that's why she responded the way she did.) Even if Katie Couric hadn't been looking to embarrass Palin, Palin's answer almost made it impossible not to.
